Welcome to Compass House. This is the pet-friendly holiday cottage in Amble on the beautiful Northumberland coast. Designed to sleep four, our well-equipped, comfortable home is perfect for your break.
Right at the heart of the Northumberland Heritage Coast, historic market towns, castles and gardens, our wide open spaces, islands and wildlife-full nature reserves are all within easy reach during your stay.
Close to the harbour, the sea and all the town’s facilities, Compass House is ideal for your Northumberland holiday. When you arrive, you are situated in the heart of Amble’s Old Town, at the mouth of the River Coquet.
Our town is built on a point of land that juts out into the sea, providing extensive views along coastline. This is the southern tip of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Standing on the pier, on a clear day you can see along our Heritage Coast to Dunstanburgh Castle.
Just a minute’s walk from the front door, you find a busy harbour and the local fishing industry. Additionally, on Sundays, the harbour holds a thriving market. We also have a modern marina, water sports centre and excellent leisure fishing opportunities. Plus, you’ll find a wide range of restaurants and small independent shops scattered around the town.
The RSPB bird sanctuary of Coquet Island lies a mile offshore. Consequently, boat trips around the island to see the seals as well as puffins, roseate terns and other seabirds run from the harbour.
Furthermore, you are within easy reach of everything this beautiful and historic county offers. Just one mile south-east of Warkworth Castle, nine miles from Alnwick and fourteen miles from Morpeth.
Of course, this all makes Amble’s Compass House ideal for your Northumberland holiday. Contact us now to book your stay.
