Compass House is Amble’s pet friendly holiday cottage. Close to the harbour, the sea and all the town’s facilities, it is the perfect home for your Northumberland
Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet in mid Northumberland. It is 1 mile south-east of Warkworth and 9 miles south-east of Alnwick.
Our town is built on a point of land that juts out into the sea, so providing extensive views along coastline, and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has a busy harbour for local fishing industry and has a history of traditional ‘coble’ boat building. We have a thriving modern marina and excellent leisure fishing opportunities.
The RSPB bird sanctuary of Coquet Island lies a mile offshore, and boat trips around the island to see the seals as well as puffins, roseate terns and other seabirds run from the harbour.
Right at the heart of the Northumberland Heritage coast, historic market towns, castles and gardens, our wide open spaces, islands and wildlife-full nature reserves all within easy reach.
